Performs warehouse work involving receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise. Work is usually repetitive and involves unloading, stacking, binning, rotating, and marking stock in accordance with standardized operating instructions. Verifies incoming and outgoing shipping documents. May use automated material identification equipment such as bar code, wands, computer terminals, and laser scanners to select storage locations of items being shipped or received. Uses common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and pliers as well as hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and electric lifts. Assists in the taking of inventories at required intervals. Assists in packing and final preparation of customer orders, including packing list and labels per carrier standards and processing of freight charges. Makes packed orders available for daily pick up by logistics carrier. Packing should protect the products during shipment and meet the logistics carrier standards. Works under guidance of the E-Commerce Distribution Center Manager who provides general instruction on repetitive assignments and specific guidance, including written instructions on new operations or procedures. Work is periodically spot-checked. Performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning floors, fixtures, etc., as needed in the areas assigned. Duties may also include minor maintenance and miscellaneous duties in order to ensure the facility is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Welcomes customers and maintain product knowledge. Reacts to all concerns of customers quickly. Communicates information regarding product availability. Upholds predefined customer services standards. Complies with established safety standards, emergency preparedness requirements and all policies regarding loss prevention and is proactive regarding shrink. Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock. Knowledge of overall warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling.

Ability to operate mechanized equipment including utility vehicles, forklifts, mobile stock selectors, and automated equipment such as, optical readers, scanners and computer keyboards.

Ability to process and independently complete shipping and receiving documents to insure correctness of quantities, identification criteria, and labeling.

Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, lift and carry supplies, materials and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs.

P Preferred (in addition to the minimum):

Experience: handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies; operating material handling equipment; accessing information on a computer; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness as evidenced by 1 year equivalent experience as a warehouse worker 3 in a retail environment.
