Sr R&D Manager

The Senior Research and Development Manager will be responsible for providing leadership to multiple R&D teams focused on our Spectra Fiber and Spectra Shield product platforms. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple R&D projects simultaneously while ensuring a cohesive and synergistic approach to innovation. You will collaborate with other business units, marketing, sales, and external partners to align R&D efforts with business goals.You will report directly to our Sr. Director of R&D and you’ll work out of our Colonial Heights, VA location.At Honeywell, our people leaders play a critical role in developing and supporting our employees to help them perform at their best and drive change across the company. Develop and implement the overall R&D strategy in alignment with the company's business goals

Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the long-term direction of the R&D function

Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the R&D organization

Oversee process technology including commercial scale up

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple R&D projects simultaneously

Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget

Generate reports for executive leadership, summarizing key achievements, challenges, and future plans to meet demand

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.YOU MUST HAVE:

10+ years of experience leading research and development projects within a technology or manufacturing environment focused on fiber, textiles, or other polymer extrusion

5+ years of holding people leader / management position

Bachelor’s degree Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry, or another related field

WE VALUE:

Advanced degree in the related field

Experience with HMPE fiber and HMPE fiber-based composites

Polymer extrusion and Gel/Solution spinning processes

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to drive technology commercialization is a plus

Passion for innovation and continuous learning
