Our work depends on a Coding/Standards Specialist joining our team to provide quality measure support services for our client.This program relates to maintenance of the quality measures and implementation support. This role ensures that our client is reaching their legislative mandates by transparently, efficiently and accurately developing and maintaining measures for national quality initiatives. This position will provide review and analysis of coding accuracy in accordance with accepted medical and legal standards, current CPT and ICD-10 codes, and our client's quality measure program and reporting standards.HOW A HEALTH CLINICAL CODING/STANDARDS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :

Performs ongoing assessment of clinical quality measures, changes/updates and annual quality measure management tasks.

Reviews documentation created by clinical and non-clinical staff for coding accuracy.

Assists with the preparation of training materials and supports training as needed.

Partners with clinical teams in reviewing requirements, coding specifications, testing, support, quality assurance and training plans to ensure they are aligned with business objectives and clinical quality measure standards (e.g., HL7, QRDA, CPT, ICD-10).

Works with business analysts to reviews/edit business requirements.

Researches and supports ad hoc narrative reports and option papers with minimal turn-around time and with a high level of accuracy.

Provides technical assistance regarding coding and/or measure reporting challenges in implementation of clinical quality measures (i.e., measure additions, validation processes, coding changes, etc.),

Serves as the primary point of contact for all coding and measure standards tasks.

When appropriate, prepares for and facilitates meetings for customers and other contractors, including agenda preparation and production of minutes.

Provides support on quality measure content and analytical issues as it pertains to the national quality initiative.

Provides coding and/or standards subject matter expertise and supporting materials for customers related to national outreach and education.

Verifies and analyzes report data when appropriate.

Reviews health care data technical specifications (i.e., claims, QRDA, HL7, etc.) for compliance from a technical and clinical perspective.

Other duties as assigned.

Actively supports the advancement of GDIT's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or 3-5 years related clinical coding and standards experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Current Certified Professional Coder certification through accredited agency (AAPC).

Ability to analyze and document clinical and technical standards.

Knowledge and use of standard coding systems (CPT, SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD-10, etc.).

Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and PDF documents.

Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail, and timely responses to customer inquiries.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presenting.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

Ability to maintain professional and ethical working relationships.

Ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer group including executives, managers, subject matter experts, stakeholders and team members.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Outlook, Word, Excel, Confluence and Jira.

Effective organizational skills

Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and other related software applications.

Advanced knowledge of program requirements.

Prefer experience with clinical quality measures (at least 2 years of experience).
