Editor, Quality Specialist

DescriptionICF seeks an Editor/Quality Specialist work within our Children and Youth (C&Y) portfolio. The C&Y portfolio provides training, technical assistance, and program support to promote evidence-based solutions for child and family services. The Editor/Quality Specialist will provide support reviewing and improving training materials, educational content, and instructional documents for call center representatives who provide health care access and information for military personnel and their families. The Editor/Quality Specialist should understand how to manage competing deadlines while dealing with an extensive review process.Location:This role will be based out of a home/remote ICF office with occasional travel for client and staff meetings.Responsibilities:

Provide editorial support (copyediting, substantive editing, and prooing) for training materials, educational content, web content, and instructional documents.

Assist with establishing and maintaining editorial standards and the project style guide.

Research, write, and edit print and digital content as needed.

Provide coaching in editing and writing to other staff, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in prooing, editing, or quality assurance, preferably in a training and development or educational publishing environment.

Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Professional Skills:

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.

Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to prooing and editing training materials for accuracy and consistency.

Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other partners.

Demonstrated experience in reviewing and improving training materials, educational content, or instructional documents.

Proficiency in using style guides such as The Chicago Manual of Style, APA, MLA, or AP Stylebook.

Familiarity with instructional design principles and the ability to ensure alignment between content and learning objectives.

Ability to provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving clarity, coherence, and effectiveness of training materials.

Experience working with various file formats and document types, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, and e-learning modules.

Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines for ensuring training materials are inclusive and accessible to all learners.

Familiarity with version control systems and workflow management tools for tracking changes and managing revisions.

Proficiency in using style guides such as The Chicago Manual of Style, APA, MLA, or AP Stylebook.

Proficiency in using project management software and collaboration tools for coordinating review cycles and managing editorial workflows.

Experience in developing and maintaining style guides, editorial standards and best practices for consistent quality across training materials.

Flexibility and willingness to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
