Job AnnouncementReston Community Center (RCC) seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented candidate to join the team responsible for procurement and financial operations. This candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment for an agency that is dedicated to serving the recreational, cultural, and leisure-time pursuits of the community of Reston, Virginia. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Financial Specialist I.Duties include:

Performs a variety of financial and accounting functions using the Fairfax County's financial system. Provides a high-level of customer service to the staff of Reston Community Center by providing financial and procurement services in a timely manner.

Actively participates and contributes to the overall success of the financial services/human resources team.

Performs other duties as may be assigned to further the goals and objectives of RCC.

Experience navigating and processing transactions within a financial module or Enterprise Resource Planning system.

Demonstrated experience performing financial functions, such as accounts payable, bank reconciliation, funds reservations, held check requests, procurement, other reconciliations.

Demonstrated experience performing journal entries for budget, cash receipts, procurement cards, reconciliations.

Experience entering, modifying, and extracting data from an automated database and/or web-based online application to generate reports.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e., Excel, Outlook, and Word).

Must be detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable and have experience working in a team environment.

Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience working with principles, methods, and practices of governmental budgeting and fiscal management and the ability to apply them to complex governmental systems.

Familiarity with the activities, operations, and programming offerings of a community-serving recreational and cultural organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employee may be required to lift up to 15 lbs. Incumbent must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment. Job is generally sedentary in nature; ability to read data on a computer monitor is required.
