Our work depends on a Technical Editor joining our team to support Federal Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program activities.At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Technical Editor supporting the EHRM program, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing project deliverables such as technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specifically in the areas of 508 compliancy.HOW A TECHNICAL EDITOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Working on all phases of documentation; assisting in the preparation of documents and supports the development of contract deliverables and reports.
Review and edit deliverable content for Section 508 accessibility compliance.
Stay up to date on Section 508 standards and best practices.
Editing functional descriptions, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables or document, conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology.
Reviews and edits project deliverables such as technical documents, policies, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals and technical publications.
Preparing reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years' experience.
5+ years in a related technical or clinical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
Experience with 508 technical writing.
Experience editing material for punctuation, grammar, and content.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
Knowledge of Federal documentation standards , processes, and 508 compliancy.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance
