Summary About the Position: This position supports the mission of the DHA J-1 Integration Cell Division, and is located in Falls Church, Virginia. This is not a remote position. Salary negotiation may be available for those highly qualified candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Serve as an Operations staff action officer, and advisor on plans, policies and operations. Directly advise the Chief, Current Operations on ongoing operational matters. In accordance with (IAW) applicable DOD Directives, DHA and Public Health publications, develop and advise on operations-related plans, programs, and policies. Develop, coordinate, implement and maintain new contingency and emergency plans based on directives from higher headquarters and other federal departments and agencies. As the staff action and task control officer, review all operational mission taskings to determine specified and implied missions applicable to the command. Ensure tasking documents and Command responses are prepared in proper format and published within established deadlines. Maintain/update policy for and execute suspense management and document control procedures. As the tasking officer, required to maintain the J-1 Resource Tasking System database and Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2), and manage the Command's Command and Control Personal Computer (C2PC) system. Review and analyze orders, plans and correspondence (to include classified and unclassified e-mail) for specified and implied mission requirements. Evaluate capabilities to meet these requirements and recommend courses of actions. Establish and maintain an effective suspense control data base system to ensure proper processing of documents and command group action. Keep accurate records of final disposition of each action. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) advising on ongoing operational matters, or operations-related plans, programs or policies; 2) managing/controlling staff actions or operational/mission tasks; 3) utilizing a suspense control database system (i.e., Resource Tasking database, ETMS2, etc.) to ensure tasker/staff action suspense dates are met; and 4) assisting in the review and analysis of operations orders, plans or correspondence for specified or implied mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
