3D Modeling and Simulation Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Nuclear Enterprise Directorate. This position specifically supports the Nuclear Surety Division, a dynamic and growing organization within the Nuclear Enterprise. We are looking for a person knowledgeable in using Dante and/or AVERT (Automated Vulnerability Evaluation for the Risk of Terrorism), other force-on-force simulation software, or real time strategy software modification with experience in leading teams or projects, project management, technical writing, and simulation data analysis.Roles and Responsibilities:· Lead the Modeling & Simulation Center team in day-to-day operations, long term planning and project management, and management administrative tasks.· Collect data and extract data points from software to be used in analyses.· Conduct 3D modeling and simulation planning, administration, operation, and analytical support to the overall nuclear weapons surety program, operating and monitoring software runs and providing assumptions/analyses of modeling results.· Utilize statistical modeling software incorporating 3D Autodesk rendered terrain models with pH/pK data tables.· Determine future physical security system effectiveness at DoD locations using statistical and physics-based models to employ pathway and combat modeling, used for tabletop exercises (TTX) as well as site familiarization.· Modify data libraries used by software engines.· Write behavior scripts and add security features (equipment and personnel) to be used in 3D simulations.· Produce reports of model and simulation studies.· Create, modify, and update 3D terrain models.QualificationsRequired Skills:· Bachelors and nine (9) years or more of related experience; Masters and six (6) years or more experience;· Experience with Dante, AVERT, other force-on-force simulation software, or real time strategy software modification· Experience managing small teams or projects· Experience with technical writing· Experience with data analysis· Written and oral presentation skills for communicating technical subjects to non-technical audiences· Strong sense of self-motivation to identify problems, find solutions, and expand personal knowledge and skills· Clearance: Top SecretDesired Skills:· Experience creating realistic, accurate 3D models and textures from photographic sources· Experience with 3DS Max or similar 3D modeling software· Experience with Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, or similar photo editing software· Experience with Unity 3D, Talansoft Valkyrie, or similar 3D real time game engines· Experience with XML, Javascript, C#, or other scripting/programming languages preferredSAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
