As a SQL Server Database Administrator Senior you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on SQL Server Database Administrator Senior joining our team to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).HOW A SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Create and administer Microsoft SQL Server instances and configure them, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, and failover clustering

Implement SQL Server encryption using transparent data encryption (TDE) and PKI certificates

In charge of database backup and recovery methods, database access security and integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage administration

Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning, in coordination with the Customers, IT manager, Database Engineer, System Engineers

Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans

Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible

Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance

T-SQL query tuning, experienced with PowerShell (DBTools),

Configure and maintain SQL Security controls

In charge of database migrations and server updates

Assists in the selection of a database management system and the maintenance of database performance

Participate in continuous process improvement

Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.

Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices

Experienced with Windows Server 2k16, 2k19, Active Directory, and McAfee products

Experience in securing a SQL environment to include applying and documenting DISA’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

In charge, authoring, and modifying SQL Server Reporting Services reports (SSRS)

Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities, as well as train server operations employees on them

Facilitate brainstorming meetings with clients to review, analyze, and assess business systems and needs

Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization, internal and external

Demonstrated ability to onboard and integrate with an organization long-term

Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers (https://handbook.gitlab.com/handbook/values/#collaboration) , and clear status updates

May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

May serve as an alternative team or task lead, when needed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience

Required Skillset:

Coordinate database architecture changes with SQL Server Database Engineer (DBE)s. Direct the installation of database management systems, databases, tables and views. Direct the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies

Create database structures and interfaces to meet customers’ requirements; develop, administers, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database and performs database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements

Clearance Level: TS/SCI

Required Certification(s):

DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract

IAT II 8570 Baseline Certification -Sec+CE or equivalent

Required Computing Environment certification: MCSE Data Management and Analytics [MS SQL Server] Exam 70-762 or Exam 70-464, or Exam 70-465, or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
