Responsibilities

Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care

Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training

Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage

Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices

Observe and report to the physical therapist the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in condition

Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements

Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the CAPTE with current licensure to practice in state of operation

1+ year PTA experience

Home health experience preferred

Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence

  • This position is Part time with future Full-Time available. This position requires special hours including working weekends and evenings. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.  Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA approved veterinary assistant programs at a level in which to aid in the efficiency of the practice.  Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.  One year related experience required with customer service preferred.
