Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Title: Embedded Firmware EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an embedded firmware engineer to aid in the development of firmware that controls battery management systems. This system is part of renewable energy, green energy systems that revolutionize how companies store and release energy gained from wind, water, and solar power systems. Our goal is to create 100% renewable energy for the entire world.Responsibilities

Write brand new code for a system being created from scratch, sometimes with minimal requirements defined.

Use model and simulation tools for testing.

Attend and participate in Scrum meetings.

Participate in customer demos and reviews.

Essential Skills

10+ years of experience writing Embedded C.

Experience programming multi-core microcontrollers, ideally ARM Cortex STM32.

Experience with serial communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, or others).

Experience with Simulink.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience writing code for safety-critical/high-reliability systems (e.g., airplanes, satellites).

Knowledge of modern DevOps processes.

Experience with RTOS (ideally FreeRTOS, but any RTOS will work).

Work EnvironmentThis role is hybrid in Herndon, with the possibility of requiring on-site presence every day depending on tasking and customer meetings. The team is highly knowledgeable in software engineering and battery management systems, providing ample opportunity for mentorship. All work involves custom development and R&D efforts in an engineering lab.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $90.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
