As a project manager in the Connectivity Security Engineering team, you will support teams of engineers committed to ensuring the continued safety of Capital One and the effectiveness of the network security platforms within it. You will partner closely with product, architecture, cyber, and cloud infrastructure teams, as well as line-of-business teams to build and run great network security platforms. You see security as an enabler and differentiator to enable the business through innovation, with a lens on delivering a first-class customer experience while managing risk appetite.You will be a key member of the Connectivity Security Leadership Team with reach across the department and will be at the forefront of driving a multi-year journey to evolve our network security agenda. You’ll help us ensure our current platforms remain effective against existing threats, while also anticipating future threats and building out new capabilities.Responsibilities
Leading large sized, complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction.
Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
Ensuring projects are being delivered on time and on budget within a challenging environment while simultaneously managing risk
Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
The person will:
Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts
Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 7 years of Technical Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
5+ years of financial industry experience
2+ years of experience with Network engineering teams and projects
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
