On disruption and dreaming of a better way for the benefit of those we serve.Primary ResponsibilitiesInfluence and support overall DIB communications strategy and governance

Build a deep understanding of internal clients’ business and objectives, stakeholders, differentiators, potential risks and opportunities

Exude energy for DIB and continue to build the DIB communications function and strategy

Exhibit comfort navigating ambiguity and change; support change management efforts

Support Business Resource Group communications, programming and governance

Work closely and engage with key stakeholders to build trusted relationships

Work, partner with and influence multiple constituents and stakeholders (internal and external), including senior executives

Exhibit excellent judgment; understand, identify and effectively navigate potential risks and sensitivities

Be a self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Be an outstanding communicator and presenter, both written and verbal

Deliver integrated DIB communications campaigns to target audiences

Lead DIB communications efforts, including moment-in-time campaigns and impactful ‘always on’ communications strategy, and planning of media and industry activations across paid, earned, shared & owned channels

Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders; support media training and develop messaging for internal and external presentations and in response to media opportunities

Support engagement with partnerships, creating storytelling opportunities to showcase Capital One’s support of associates and communities of all backgrounds

Partner with Brand and Marketing teams to support multichannel, multi-audience marketing communications strategy, including overarching Heritage Month strategy

Be an integral strategic partner in the building of campaigns that incorporate retail, digital, social, and external channels to tell a cohesive story with a consistent brand voice

Measure impact and support process improvement

Ensure all work is executed through a lens of strategic impact and measurement

Identify new opportunities to institute best practices and governance

Create budget proposal and manage funds

Ability to effectively manage agency partners and vendors

Develop and maintain deep fluency and expertise in relevant external trends impacting the business and its peers

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or military experience

At least 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations

Preferred Qualifications

Previous communications experience focusing on diversity, inclusion and belonging
