Description We are offering an opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in Newport News, Virginia. This job is in the industry of customer service and requires proficiency in various Microsoft Office products and administrative tasks. You will be expected to support our team by maintaining accurate customer records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Retrieve data from systems such as invoices, tax exemption certificates, business licenses, etc. for government audits. Respond to customer and vendor requests for copies of tax documents and assist in maintaining a repository of commonly requested forms. Perform general administrative duties and provide support for the tax department. Follow established procedures and guidelines to provide efficient clerical support. Gather, compile, and verify information and enter it accurately into documents and office systems such as SharePoint sites, databases, billing software, or spreadsheets. Manually upload certificates and perform data validation. Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management. Complete other administrative tasks as assigned. Always represent the company in a professional manner and abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including safety guidelines. Support corporate programs, goals, and initiatives of the company. Requirements Must possess strong customer service skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required Familiarity with clerical duties such as scanning documents and handling invoices Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations is necessary Ability to manage databases and spreadsheets efficiently Experience in tax accounting and sales tax is desirable Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all tasks Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suites Ability to lead special projects Knowledge of safety guidelines is a plus Phone etiquette is essential Experience in dealing with vendors Skilled in creating and delivering presentations Familiarity with tax related tasks.
