Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit industry for an IT Specialist II - Cable Tech based in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves intricate work with CAT 6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, as well as customer service and team collaboration. Responsibilities Install, test, and maintain CAT 6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables to ensure optimal network performance. Program and configure cameras, door access systems, and Wi-Fi networks, and troubleshoot any arising issues. Navigate building construction elements such as walls, ceilings, and doorways during cable installations. Source materials and provide quotes for necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely procurement. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and concerns efficiently and professionally. Collaborate with team members to complete projects and resolve issues. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, and maintain a clean driving record. Handle physical requirements of the role, such as lifting 50-75 lbs, climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, and demonstrating good mobility for frequent bending and maneuvering in various settings. Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Access Control systems Experience with Android Development Knowledge of Broadband technologies Proficiency in Cisco Technologies Familiarity with Database management and AB Testing Experience with Apple Devices and BluePrint software Proficiency in Cable Installation Knowledge of Cable Television systems Ability to work in a non-profit environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Problem-solving ability and critical thinking Commitment to continuous learning in the field of IT Capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
