We look forward to learning about you.Job DescriptionPrimary Purpose:Plans, administers, and supervises a large locomotive maintenance facility and manages an organization properly structured, trained, and motivated to meet the Department objectives for superior performance in safety, locomotive reliability, and shop craft productivity.Principal Duties: Oversees the direction, scheduling, production, cost control, and quality control for the locomotive shop. Manages FRA maintenance and heavy repair work on the assigned fleet of locomotives within the established budget restraints. Ensures efficient and prompt dispatching of locomotive consists for all trains. Ensures efficient and prompt repair of locomotives consistent with traffic requirements and continued changes and/or improvements in locomotive maintenance to provide more reliable and economical unit repair and performance. Recommends the purchase of equipment and the modification of existing facilities for attaining quality, efficiency, and production goals. Resolves grievances, time claims, discipline problems, differences in interpretation of agreements, and conflicts between crafts regarding jurisdiction of work. Maintains professional relationships with local craft representatives.
