DOUBLETREE by HILTOLN NORFOLK is hosting an OPEN HOUSE on Monday, February 25, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for the following Banquet Positions:

BANQUET SET-UP PERSON

Responsible for setting/clearing tables, meeting spaces and function areas in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Must be able to lift and carry 40 -60 pounds as a primary function of the position. Must be able to follow diagrams and detailed instructions with limited supervision. Must be flexible in schedule requirements to include weekends and possibly late evenings/nights. Position schedule changes per the needs of the hotel. Intense eye for details and perfection, a valuable asset!

As a Banquet Set-up Person, specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

—¾Set and prepare ballroom, meeting spaces, and tables for dining.

—¾Ensure table and tableware is in good and working condition and report any defects for repair

—¾Stock, maintain and clean designated areas.

—¾Retrieve and transport tableware, tables and chairs to storage area

—¾Respond to function inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

BANQUET SUPERVISOR

Individual will assist with overseeing all Banquet Servers and Houseman, to ensure all events go smoothly and efficiently. Must be flexible to work weekends, including Sundays and holidays

Must be able to remember details, ensuring Banquet Event Orders and Catering preparations adhered to. Must be flexible and open to last minute changes.

As Banquet Supervisor, you will:

—¾Oversee banquet and food and beverage setup according to Banquet Event Orders.

—¾Assist in meeting sales and financial goals. Assist with preparation of gratuities for payroll.

—¾Step up in the absence of the Banquet Manager, meet with clients to review banquet orders and changes.

—¾Monitor and manage banquet facilities and equipment.

A high school education or equivalent is required, with one full year experience in a related position, preferably in a banquet hotel setting. The ability to learn how to operate a computer, business equipment and software is required. Effective written and verbal English communications is also required. This position requires full mobility, occasional lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds.
