Serves as the direct supervisor to Underwriters within the department

Assists Underwriters with daily tasks and questions concerning specific loan applications and loan programs

Performs employee reviews, sets goals and performance objectives for each direct report

Responsible for training the Underwriters

Assists branches with underwriting questions, scenarios and problems specific to the loan files assigned

Makes suggestions to the sales team on how to structure or restructure loans and provides suggestions on what can be obtained to satisfy outstanding conditions of the loan approval

Underwrite loans as needed

Limited job related travel may be required

Qualifications

At least 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience

Supervisory experience

Experience reviewing Conventional Loans

Obtained FHA DE (Direct Endorsed) Underwriting and/or VA credit underwriting / VA LAPP authority

Bachelor's degree preferred
