Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Reston, Virginia. The chosen candidate will be entrusted with the management of certified payroll processes for a substantial number of employees, along with the task of data entry and payroll processing. The role requires the handling of manual processes in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities: Oversee the certified payroll process for a significant number of employees Conduct manual processing tasks as required Manage data entry duties related to payroll Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner Transition from Sage 100 software to UKG Pro for payroll processing Monitor and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues Maintain detailed records of all payroll transactions Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Provide excellent customer service by addressing payroll-related inquiries Carry out additional tasks as needed within the scope of the payroll function. Requirements Possession of a certification in payroll processing. Proficiency in handling manual processes associated with payroll. Experience in managing payroll for a workforce of 101 to 500 employees. Comprehensive understanding of payroll systems and procedures. Experience in processing bi-weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner. Proficiency in using Sage 100 payroll software. Experience with the UKG Pro payroll platform. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
