The Red Gate Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. In this key role, you will help drive innovation and modernize mission-critical defense IT systems by designing, developing, and implementing robust DevOps solutions. If you're passionate about solving complex technical challenges and making a real impact, this is the opportunity to lead with purpose.Key Responsibilities:Develop, deploy, and maintain custom applications in production environments.Build and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.Lead containerization efforts, including building images and orchestrating deployments in Kubernetes.Manage deployment tools using Helm with ArgoCD or Flux, and develop custom Helm charts.Utilize automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to optimize infrastructure.Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to support large-scale deployments and server/network configurations.Oversee container networking, monitoring, storage solutions, and security.Proactively identify vulnerabilities in containerized environments and develop mitigation strategies.Mentor junior team members, sharing best practices in DevOps, cloud technologies, and automation.
