You will lead a team of risk managers who play a key role in delivering against our Enterprise Event and Issue Standard and ensure Capital One’s continued stability and success. Directors are expected to partner with Executives and their teams to evaluate risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded as well as lead a team of associates to monitor and assess the health of our business.Directors at Capital One are intellectually curious & highly motivated professionals, lead with a growth mindset and possess excellent process management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.Core Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Process and Risk, you will play a key role in contributing to the effective design and delivery of our risk management strategy

Leverage data and analytics to manage risk and create visibility to business health, as well as determine best practices and lessons learned regarding components of the Event & Issue management framework

Collaborate internally and with our risk community (e.g. risk managers, risk leads, IRM groups, business risk offices, front line process owners) to mature our risk event practice methodologies and advance learning

Foster an environment of trust, collaboration & belonging while leading a team of risk managers that facilitate the risk event life cycle, including: root cause analysis, containment, remediation, and recovery efforts

Develop practical solutions to improve risk event management processes using data and technology

Actively support internal and external audits and exams

Collaborate effectively across multiple organizations outside of Customer Resiliency such as Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Business Risk Offices, Legal, Internal Audit, Regulator Relations, etc. to achieve objectives for the Customer Resiliency business

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

At least 5 years experience in Operations or Risk Management

At least 5 years of experience in Project or Process Management

At least 5 years experience in People Management

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree

5+ years experience in Operations or Risk Management within the financial services industry

5+ years of experience as a Project or Process Manager within the financial services industry

5+ years experience in People Management

Business Process Management Certification - Six Sigma Lean, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, Agile Coach certification

Compliance Certification - CRCM, CIPP
