Job responsibilities may include maintaining our distribution construction manuals and/or assigned a material group to manage. Successful candidate will be fully competent in electrical and mechanical engineering concepts. Need full understanding of how electric distribution system is built and maintained. Understand how various voltages are used to serve industrial, commercial, and residential customers. Previous design or construction experience is preferred. They will be responsible to read, understand and apply various codes and guidelines that the distribution system is required to comply with. This would include National electric code, National electric and safety code, Occupational safety and health administration, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers codes.This position is responsible for sourcing materials from vendors that meet our applications, test these materials, and visit manufacturing facilities to approve the facility. Once products are approved, the engineer will facilitate and present application of new product with design and field crews. This position also is responsible for root cause analysis for any material failures within their area of responsibility. Position will communicate with various groups within our company, including Design, Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, Asset Management, and Safety and Training. Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license
