Timmons Group is currently seeking an experienced GIS Project Manager with the skills and experience necessary to be a strong team leader to join our Geospatial Division team. The successful candidate will efficiently and effectively organize projects, coordinate and allocate resources, budget and track the logistics of projects, and deliver high quality results for our clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: Work effectively with internal team, external customers, vendors, and senior management as needed to successfully coordinate the delivery of multiple projects Provide project leadership and fosters a collaborative team environment Work with large clients to understand future needs and wants of the organizations and facilitate the creation of projects and task trajectories to make these needs and wants into reality Interact with customers to understand business requirements and the project team to determine project scope, budget estimates, schedule, and deliverablesEnsure accuracy and delivery of plans and proposals Maintain a solid understanding and demonstrated expertise in current technologies, system and process development methods  Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills in a geospatial environment  Manage scope, schedule, and budget of multiple GIS projects Function as primary point of contact for stakeholders Responsible for all internal and external project status reporting Develop, implement and lead projects through the full cycle from proposal to delivery  Coordinate and be available to travel frequently to client locations for onsite kickoff, progress, and deliverable meetings  Setup new projects and develop project work plans and determine resource requirements Coordinate and organize teams and tasks to ensure projects remain on task  Supervise project team in application design, development, testing and deployment  Manage and coordinate GIS sub-consultant work  Monitor and control project expenses within allotted budget  Oversee risk management, change control and quality control/assurance activities Invoice assigned projects and provide projections to company leadership  Respond to customer inquiries professionally and promptly    Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in the GIS or technical project management field and/or equivalent experience preferred.Must have some technical project management experience preferably in a consulting/professional services environment Knowledge on GIS technologies Experience managing software development projects is preferredDemonstrated ability to apply Agile delivery principles Communicates effectively with all levels of internal and external project stakeholder Ability to influence without direct authority Excellent organizational, analytical and planning skills to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines. Self-directed with an ability to organize and prioritize workload to align with strict timelines.  Excellent coordination of complex processes, multiple schedules and reporting needs.  Experience preparing and delivering reports, recommendations, or alternatives.  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Ability to effectively communicate with agency stakeholders that have a variety of different skill sets and personalities, including technical, business, and management staff.  Flexibility to determine the best project management practices and processes to employ, between Agile and traditional methods.  The ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical customers  The ability to prepare and present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.  Ability to know and apply Information Technology performance measures and evaluation processes.  Familiar with a variety of the GIS profession concepts, practices, and procedures.  Experience with a hybrid of traditional waterfall and Agile iterative project management methods.  Ability to lead holistic discussions about governance, policy, best practices, standards
