DescriptionThe Richmond Campus of Bryant & Stratton College is currently accepting applications for a part-time Tutor to support K-3 reading skills in Hopewell Public Schools.Summary:The part-time Tutoring service is offered to support elementary students in the Hopewell area. The primary responsibility for those selected for this capacity is to facilitate sessions which instruct students in phonics to help them read. The tutors will work under the supervision of the Continuing Education area of the campus.A comprehensive list of responsibilities and necessary qualifications to apply for this capacity are listed as follows:Responsibilities:
Providing support for students in one on one and/or in group environments.
Tutoring subjects within the discipline of expertise on different activities, including, but not limited to, simulations of classroom activities, and providing review sessions.
Complying with all Bryant & Stratton College policies and procedures.
Attending staff meetings at the campus that relate to their area.
Maintaining ethical and professional stances while on campus.
Participating in ongoing required training.
Being available to work day, evening, and weekend shifts according to demands defined by the College (included in schedules and informed in advance), totaling up to 24 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Associate degree required.
Bachelor's degree preferred/or relevant work experience.
Being available to work at satellite location according to demands defined by the College (included in schedules and informed in advance).
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and faculty.
Ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data system.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Self-driven; prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Able to maintain confidential materials and student information.
Flexible, with positive attitude.
Experience in the field of tutoring, teaching, facilitation, and learning assistance (tutoring certification is a plus).
Experience working with a diverse student population is a plus.
