Description If you have a background in accounting and are searching for a role with a highly respected Non-Profit firm, Robert Half may have the Senior Accountant position for you. Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates will need excellent analytical skills and an ability to keep up in a fast-paced workspace. This Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Non-Profit field and is located in Richmond, Virginia. Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests Requirements - Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Proficiency in Recurring Journal Entries
General familiarity with cash reconciliations
GAAP (STAT) experience preferred
Solid understanding of US GAAP
Statement Reconciliations experience highly desired
Experience with Month-end Journal Entries
Proficiency in GAAP Accounting
Comprehension of Ledger Journal Entries
General ledger experience
Practical knowledge of Ledger Reconciliations
Knowledge of Record Journal Entries
Solid understanding of Posting Journal Entries
Hands-on experience with Monthly Journal Entries
Previous experience working with Adjusting Journal Entries
Earlier work involving month end closings
Good understanding of Review Journal Entries
Proven knowledge of reconciliations
Solid understanding of Prepare Journal Entries
Quality experience with reconciliations
Skills in journal entries
Prior experience with Post Journal Entries
Well-founded grasp of bank reconciliations
Wide ranging experience with Statement Reconciliations
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Exceptional time management skills preferred
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Efficient in ERP systems
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
