Description We are in the search for a Staff Accountant to be part of our team in the service industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves various accounting functions, including maintaining customer records, processing applications, and resolving inquiries. It also requires monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions.Responsibilities: Handle customer account inquiries via phone when required. Update reports and post transactions for operating bank accounts on a daily basis. Maintain the perpetual inventory ledger and assist with the transition from the legacy system to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to ensure accurate inventory counts. Prepare reconciliations for sales, product purchases, and accruals for precious metal. Assist in coordinating and preparing all month-end closing journal entries. Post weekly payroll transactions to the General Ledger. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations. Monitor all leased metal balances and lease reporting and compliance. Assist with the management and purchase of metal from outside vendors. Requirements Must possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Previous experience in performing Bank Reconciliations is necessary Familiarity with General Ledger management and maintenance is required Must have experience in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries Experience in Month End Close procedures is a prerequisite Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is necessary A strong understanding of financial reporting and documentation is required Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are needed Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
