The Crew Lead – Data Center Services is responsible for on-site coordination, supervision, and execution of data center logistics activities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant handling of high-value equipment, including server racks and related infrastructure. The Crew Lead serves as the primary on-site point of contact, overseeing delivery crews, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring adherence to customer-specific requirements and Expeditors’ operational excellence standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCrew Coordination & PlanningCoordinate and schedule delivery crews to ensure timely arrival at data center sitesEnsure all necessary equipment is available and functional, including PPE, electric pallet jacks, rack lifts, and specialized toolsVerify team readiness and alignment with job scope prior to site arrival by communicating or creating a clear SOPOn-Site Supervision & SafetyAct as the on-site lead and primary coordinator at data center facilitiesEnforce strict adherence to safety protocols, customer requirements, and site regulationsConduct pre-task briefings and ensure all personnel follow established proceduresCustomer Engagement SkillsComfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting prioritiesAbility to tailor communication style based on the audience (management, operational, tactical)Maintain professionalism, composure, and empathy in all customer interactionsExperience coordinating across multiple teams – i.e. operations, sales, and service teams   Freight Handling & OperationsOversee loading and unloading of inbound and outbound freight from vehicles and containersManage and verify shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and completenessSupport physical handling activities as needed, including:Inspecting cargoMoving pallets and cartons using pallet jacksAssisting with material stagingQuality ControlPerform detailed quality checks on inbound and outbound shipmentsVerify part numbers, quantities, and overall condition of materialsEnsure all equipment is received and delivered in pristine conditionEscalate discrepancies or damage in a timely and professional mannerData Center Installation SupportOversee the unpackaging of equipment while ensuring safety and care standards are maintainedLead and assist in the placement and positioning of server racks on the data center floor (as required)Ensure all activities align with customer-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Compliance & SOP AdherenceFollow and enforce customer-specific SOPs and data center protocolsMaintain high standards of documentation, traceability, and operational complianceSite Cleanliness & Close-OutOversee and perform post-operation cleanup activitiesEnsure work areas are left clean, organized, and hazard-freeSupport proper disposal of packaging materials in accordance with site guidelines
