Job Description

MindPoint Group (MPG) is currently experiencing rapid growth, and we are seeking a Project Control Analyst (PCA)to join our accounting team. The PCA will support Program Management in the financial management of projects and programs. The PCA will also be responsible for assisting with the preparation of semi-monthly financial reporting, developing and maintaining project budgets, and semi-monthly time and burn reconciliation.

The PCA candidate will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for the following tasks:

Project Accounting:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial and Federal Government T&M, FFP, and CPFF contracts.
  • Collaborate with Project Management in the development, review, and updates of project, forecasts, and estimate-at-completion (EAC).
  • Facilitate contract kick-off meetings to ensure accuracy of project set up, project billing and accounting, and other contractual obligations.
  • Setup and maintenance of all contracts in accounting system to include: Customer, Contract, Job, Labor Categories, Labor Rates, Resource Assignment, payment terms etc.
  • Review of contract funding levels for the need for limitation of funds notifications and risk authorizations.
  • Monitor and review project and program expenditures for accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with Accounting and Contracts in resolving any discrepancies or miscoding of expenditures.
  • Review, monitor, and report project financial performance (revenue, cost, margins) and identify and present potential deviations against budget or forecasts to management. Develop and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy, timeliness, and completion. Collaborate with Contracts to ensure subcontractor funding is up to date, in place, and in line with prime contract.
  • Prepare and/or support preparation of client contract burn reports and/or ad-hoc program related financial requests from clients, internal management, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor, track, and forecast project spend for labor and non-labor. Manage labor category spend on T&M contracts with labor category ceilings.
  • Conduct dual review (with Program Management) of client invoices for payment.

Timesheet/Payroll:

  • Perform review of semi-monthly timesheets for accuracy and timely submission.
  • Work with Program Management and HR to collect and approve project related and new hire related bonuses.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform ad hoc reporting request for division leaders.
  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a Project/Program Control role for a government contractor.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF).
  • Technologically savvy with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Able to run basic excel functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, HLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
  • Preference will be given to those with knowledge of MS Dynamics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
