The Opportunity

Can you lead a sales team that brings innovative digital solutions to Fortune 500 clients? Have you closed million dollar digital transformation deals? Are you able to connect with CMOs, CIOs, EVPs, eCommerce leaders, and technical staff? Do rapidly evolving technology and changing business models get you excited? Can you understand and convey business drivers & strategies of B2B, retail, and other commerce markets? Have you managed a team to consistently exceed 7-figure or 8-figure sales quotas for many years?

  • Find, nurture and close digital marketplace, commerce and related sales opportunities.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with our software partners.
  • Write proposals, respond to RFPs, create presentations, and perform other business development activities.
  • Build and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with clients.
  • Collaborate with our marketing and growing strategy team.

Position Summary

The primary duty of the Sales SVP is to sell lead and grow a team of sales professionals to sell our professional services to prospective customers. The position will manage the sales effort through account strategy, forecasting, planning, and execution. The position will also own team responsibility to drive the entire sales process including developing proposals, leading sales calls, presentation and sales of services and product offerings, and final negotiations and contractual agreements to close the sale.

The Sales / Business Development Executive should be able to engage and influence executive-level client stakeholders, be able to represent our entire range of services and lead customer account planning, all while ensuring customer’s needs and expectations are met.

This position reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Sell our professional services which include digital strategy, marketplaces, marketing, commerce, experience design, platform implementation, application development, and support.
  • Create and commit to a go-to-market prospecting plan.
  • Identify new business opportunities, build pipeline, prioritize pursuits and lead the sales process including opportunity qualification, project scoping, sales call planning (pitching) and proposal development. This includes cold calling and outreach via social channels.
  • Cultivate business relationships and expand contacts through networking, industry events and collaborative marketing to secure new business.
  • Analyze industry trends and execute both strategic and tactical sales plans that drive new business opportunities.
  • Support our marketing team’s efforts to develop and execute compelling sales collateral and campaigns.
  • Write proposals and SOWs that engage, persuade and convert.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the industry and customer’s business to discuss issues from their perspective that identify sales opportunities.
  • Establish productive, professional relationships as a trusted advisor with key client stakeholders and executive sponsors, influencing their strategy, technology or marketing decisions.
  • Work closely with our software partners for joint prospecting and pursuits.
  • Lead solution sales efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Track, forecast and report key pipeline and account metrics using Salesforce.com.

Qualifications

  • A driven self-starter who can drive value and create opportunities.At least 10 years of experience selling digital commerce, marketing, or marketplace technology solutions.
  • Experience selling to CMOs, CIOs, CDOs, EVPs, and other high-level executives.
  • Broad understanding of the digital commerce, marketplace & marketing ecosystem.
  • Proven leadership skills managing teams of at least several BDR & sales professionals.
  • Experience representing marketing agency services including content marketing, email marketing, conversion funnel optimization, search engine optimization, design services, production services, web design and production, and other services is a plus.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding quota.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including strong presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of modern internet trends including ecommerce, UX, marketing automation, and more are a plus.
  • Experience working with eCommerce platforms like Adobe Magento Commerce, SAP Hybris, Salesforce Commerce Cloud / DemandWare, Oracle Commerce / ATG / Endeca, IBM WebSphere Commerce, Shopify Plus, Mirakl, etc.
  • Experience working with digital marketing technology / marketing automation tools like Oracle Eloqua, Responsys, BlueKai, Maxymiser, Marketo, Hubspot, Pardot, ExactTarget, DotMailer, Mailchimp, etc. and related services a plus.
  • Experience working with agencies such as Sapient Razorfish, Deloitte Digital, Accenture, Lyons, Gorilla, BORN, Merkle, etc. are a plus.
  • Travel is required (pandemic permitting).
