Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Controller in the Government Consulting industry. The position is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States, and offers an exciting opportunity for professionals proficient in various accounting software systems and practices. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions, managing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.Responsibilities: Oversee all accounting functions including but not limited to financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation. Manage the accounting staff, coordinate training programs for new staff, and identify training needs for the current team. Implement controls and audits over accounting transactions as well as timekeeping to minimize risk. Manage financial aspects of the company's ERP system in support of Government Services Contracting and Commercial Manufacturing. Develop and manage business and accounting processes to generate and manage Financial Statements, Revenue Forecasts, Cash Flow Forecasts, Budgets, Reconciliations, and other business and financial performance metrics. Ensure the reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Governmental Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other financial reporting standards. Prepare for and manage all external audit requirements. Develop financial proposals in support of company Government Services Contracting opportunities and existing contracts. Manage company Subcontractor contracts and relationships. Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and coordinate with outside auditors as needed. Assist Accounting Staff with daily duties to complete tasks accurately and on time. Present recommendations to management on financial objectives and policies. Employ Continual Improvement practices to streamline processes using automated data mining, workflows, and other tools and techniques to improve accounting effectiveness and efficiency.Interested candidates please contact Tamara Young 757-981-0974Requirements A minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller position or related role within the Government Consulting industry. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. Familiarity with DCAA regulations and procedures. Practical knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage Accounting Functions. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Auditing experience, with a focus on compliance and risk management. Proficiency in Budget Processes, including planning, tracking, and reporting. Experience in Month End Close processes. Comprehensive understanding of the General Ledger, including management and reconciliation.
