Community & Continuing Education Instructor-Digital Marketing

Whatcom Community College's Community & Continuing Education Department invites applications for a Non-Permanent, Non-Represented Instructor to lead Digital Marketing and/or Social Media Marketing courses for adult learners. Courses are scheduled on a quarterly basis, in advance, with specific dates and times determined during the planning process.

Responsibilities

Serve as instructor for introductory to intermediate-level workshops and courses in digital marketing and/or social media marketing.

Adapt and update curriculum and teaching materials to align with student needs, interests, and experience levels.

Deliver engaging, relevant instruction focused on real-world marketing tools, techniques, and strategies.

Create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment for adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

Monitor student progress and adjust teaching approaches as necessary to support learning goals.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships.

Support the College's mission in service to the community.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

-Prior experience teaching adults in a classroom, workshop, or community education setting.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to create a welcoming, interactive, and student-centered learning experience.

-Solid knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media platforms, and branding principles.

-Familiarity with current marketing tools, platforms, and analytics.

-Industry certifications-e.g., Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, etc.

Salary:

-Community & Continuing Education professional development instructors are paid on a stipend basis based on the class hours and enrollment. The stipend starts at a $40 an hour equivalent. For example, if the instructor teaches 90 minutes per week for a period of 4 weeks and has up to 12 students, the stipend would be $240 (6 hours x $40). If the instructor teaches for 120 minutes per week for a period of 4 weeks and has 13-17 students, the stipend would be $360 (8 hours x $45, higher enrollment rate), and so on. We will work with selected candidates to determine the length of classes and appropriate enrollment.

Start Date:

-Quarterly-beginning spring 2026.
