Whatcom Community College Accounting Instructor

Whatcom Community College invites applications for a part-time, adjunct faculty position to teach ACCT 265-Business Taxation beginning spring quarter 2026. It is a tax course covering corporate, partnership, and business income tax rules, policies, and theories.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-Master's degree in Accounting and/or Business from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree and professional accounting experience (e.g., a CPA license or Enrolled Agent license).

-Work experience in Accounting and Taxation.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Face-to-face teaching experience at a post-secondary institution.

-On-line teaching experience, interest, or aptitude.

-Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of organizational goals. Treats everyone with respect and dignity, and appreciates the differences in people.

Salary:

-$6,178.00 per class for spring quarter 2026.

Benefits:

-Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter.)

Start Date:

-Spring Quarter 2026 - April 7, 2026.
