Background: Cedar Tree Montessori is a special independent Montessori school located in Bellingham, WA and was founded in 1999. We work to meet the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs of each student in a nurturing Montessori school community. We strive to inspire curiosity, independence, a love of learning and skills to navigate conflict. We are committed to building a relevant, culturally responsive Montessori curriculum that inspires conversations, critical thinking and new perspectives.

Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience developing rapport and boundaries with students ages 9-12.
Desire to learn about Montessori education.
Experience leading outdoor recreation and/or environmental education with youth.
Bachelor of Arts in related field or related work experience.
Experience leading outdoor activities with children ages 6-12.
Upper Elementary Assistant Responsibilities:
Assists in establishing and maintaining a peaceful classroom culture.
Works individually with students as needed.
Protects lead teacher lessons by addressing the needs of individual students during work time.
Assist with outdoor recreation twice a week.
Attend to student behavior and movement through the classroom.
Supervise students during recess.
Help to maintain an organized and prepared classroom environment.
Work to cultivate independence in the classroom.
Guide students towards autonomy, curiosity, and respect.
Classroom Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am-1:00 pm
Weekly Hours: 20
