Job Title: Kitchen Lead
Salary: $23/hr + equally pooled tips (+$7-$12/hr)

Role: We are looking for a dedicated and organized cook who is passionate about pizza and working in a fast-paced environment.
Start Date: Immediately
Lead Duties:
Responsible for cost control and labor control
Working with management to develop and create new and exciting menu items
Ensuring upkeep and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
Submitting food orders to the supplier twice a week
Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
Tracking kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste
Training new kitchen staff members
Cooking Duties:
Preparing pizza sauces, and various toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and meats.
Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
Attention to detail and quality presentation of each order.
Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
Stores leftovers according to established standards.
Ensures smooth operation of kitchen services and prepares kitchen for shift change.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints
Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times.
Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
As Kitchen Lead, you must be dependable, self-reliant, and passionate about good food and exceptional customer service. It is vital that you combine strong organizational and prioritization skills with professional dedication and a team-oriented attitude. The ability to provide guests with that extra personal touch is also a very important aspect of this role. Specific qualifications for the position include:
High school diploma or GED
Multiple years as an Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager or Lead, or Sous Chef strongly preferred
Food Experience in a high volume restaurant is preferred.
Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.
Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
The ability to follow standardized recipes.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work in a team.
