Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Unit Clerk in Olympia, Washington. This role is within the healthcare industry where you will play a crucial role in organizing, maintaining, and updating patient records. The position entails working closely with clinicians and other medical staff, ensuring that all patient information is accurately recorded and readily available.Responsibilities: Accurately process and update patient charts, ensuring all necessary information is included and up-to-date. Communicate effectively with clinicians and staff to gather and verify patient information. Conduct daily audits of patient charts to ensure compliance and accuracy. Organize and maintain patient charts, ensuring they are ready for daily audits and follow-ups. Handle inbound calls, responding to inquiries and requests related to patient records. Use medical terminology knowledge to accurately interpret and record patient information. Utilize software such as Aviator and Office Suite for data entry and record management. Perform clerical duties such as scanning and uploading patient history information. Ensure all medical charts are properly coded according to medical coding standards. Manage claim administration and ensure audit compliance. Regularly check charting for any incomplete information, follow up on missing signatures or notes. Assist in maintaining the daily census by ensuring all charts are in compliance.Requirements Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a related field Proficiency in answering inbound calls and providing excellent customer service Experience in auditing, with a focus on medical records and claim administration Ability to produce and interpret charts and graphs related to medical data Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and their use in managing patient records Knowledge and understanding of patient charting procedures Proficiency in basic medical terminology Experience in performing clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry in a medical setting Knowledge of medical coding practices and procedures Ability to maintain compliance with medical record audit procedures Experience in handling and organizing medical charts.
