We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join our team. Bishop Block Bottle Shop, The Bishop Hotel's wine bar & café, is often the first point of contact for guests and visitors to our property, so we are looking for candidates who have experience working in hospitality and will provide excellent guest experiences. This role is unique and multi-faceted: guest check-ins, tending to phone calls, booking reservations, bartending, barista work, and serving guests. The position pays $16-$18 per hour plus tips. FT employees are eligible for health benefits inclusive of vision & dental. The right candidate must possess a positive, hardworking attitude, be able to multi-task, and enjoys an active, fast-paced work environment. Previous wine knowledge is a perk.
Responsibilities:
Serving the floor & garden courtyard: pouring espresso, wine, beer, and batched cocktails, plating/running food and drinks, bussing tables.
Opening/crossover/closing duties and cleaning/side-work procedures.
Assistance with organization and cleanliness practices.
Daily accounting procedures, including counting and closing down till.
Knowledge and understanding of menus: food, wine, beer, and cocktails.
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
Answer customer calls and emails with a pleasant tone and good grammar.
Answer all questions about the company's products, benefits, and services.
Hear and understand customers' concerns and answer them to the best of your ability.
Write down notes during customer calls.
Complete other administrative tasks within your job description.
