The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.The Fabric OneLake team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will be working on some of the coolest and hardest problems to solve such as making One Lake one stop shop for any data from any cloud, On Prem or in cloud, any format (ex: CSV or Parquet) while keeping the One Copy promise. This sub team's mission is to make it seamless for the end users to stitch together data from multiple sources and formats and consume that through a simple OneLake interface from any and all Fabric engines (such as Spark, Semantic Models etc.).We do not just value differences or different perspectives. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred/Additional Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C#, Java, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C#, Java, or PythonOR equivalent experience. Experience in solving complex problems in distributed systems Experience in designing and scaling large scale back end systems Understanding of performance and ways to measure application performanceSoftware Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. We are responsible for all things video related on Xbox and beyond! You will be working on low-level drivers and firmware interacting with the state-of-the-art graphics and video hardware as well as a variety of video technologies including but not limited to video encode, decode, color processing, motion estimation, rate control etc. You will be a member of an experienced team that is responsible for collaborating with internal and external partners to solve challenging problems in the area of Xbox video. Good understanding of general media concepts is valuable, should be comfortable working on driver and firmware-level code.
