Microsoft’s Strategic Missions and Technologies (SMT) division focuses on next-generation technology solutions, including specialized teams empowering telecommunications providers; engineering teams who are helping to carry out challenging missions and connecting the cloud to satellites in space; worldwide research teams leading the way to scalable, accessible quantum computing; and the key technology partner to the U.S. Federal government for achieving their diverse organizations’ missions through digital transformation.The Engineering and Security Excellence Team within the SMT division was created to work across product and service teams to raise the bar on quality, user experience, accessibility, security, and privacy. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Program Manager with experience working directly with engineering teams to ensure that our products and services meet Microsoft and customer expectations for Quality and compliance.Our team supports critical components of SMT quality strategy by partnering with various engineering teams to ensure that our platform meets the highest standards of Quality and compliance. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our growing Engineering and Security Excellence team. Our primary responsibility is to work across Mission Engineering product teams as they build and operate their services, and continuously raise the Quality bar to drive improvements to ensure our customers receive the best possible experience.Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Digest documentation and information on methodology and approach to Quality and Compliance pillars (Availability, resiliency, change management, accessibility etc.,) and collaborate with KPI owners to create simplified guidance and build subject matter expertise.

Accelerate the adoption of known best practices and KPIs, and extend the Quality discipline to End 2 End(E2E) systems to build and operate resilient, reliable, and high-performing systems by collaborating with engineering teams.

Analyze data to identify technical and process improvements.

Report KPI status and OKR progress to support monthly Mission Engineering Quality reviews ensuring diligence and highlighting critical issues thoughtfully.

Own Accessibility Program management for SMT and manage accessibility testing vendors.

QualificationsRequired/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

2+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a validpassport.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
