We are a large accounting firm conveniently located in Everett just off the freeway. We are looking for a payroll specialist with 5+ years experience processing multi-state payroll using numerous payroll platforms (QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, etc.)
You would be responsible for processing multiple payrolls for both large and small companies in multiple states on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis in accordance with all state and federal tax regulations.
Duties include:
Reviewing timecards for accuracy and completeness
Enter hours, deductions, garnishments, etc
Setting up payroll item codes
Setting up direct deposit ( Company and employee)
Tracking accrual FMLA, holiday, vacation, attendance etc.
Follow up with payroll companies to facilitate payroll tax corrections as needed
Process payments, adjustments, special pay, and vacation pay
Validate payroll for accuracy and completeness
Payroll processing and reporting, reconciling, and payroll tax filings (per payroll, monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) for all state and federal tax agencies on time.
Prepare reports and reconcile all liability and expense accounts are relieving properly
Provide new hire, salary and benefit changes and terminations
Process and calculate pay upon termination
Process manual checks including final checks as needed
Assist with answering and researching complex payroll related issues with employees, human resources,
accounting and legal
Evaluate processes and procedural documents for increased efficiencies and opportunities for continuous
improvement
Performs other related duties as assigned
Ability to handle personal and private information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality
You will need to pass a criminal and credit background check. Working remotely is not offered in this position. You will need to be in the office to process and maintain numerous payrolls on a daily basis.
We are open Monday to Thursday, closed on Fridays
Position is available immediately.
