Elliott Bay Brewing Co. is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant is a mid-level accounting position that contributes to keeping company books balanced and accurate and supports company financial goals. This person reports to the Accounting Manager and follows accounting procedures established by the organization. This person prepares entries, performs account analysis and provides timely information to appropriate stakeholders. We are currently offering a $500 hiring bonus after 90 days employment.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Maintain inventory templates and prepare/review entries
Maintain system for recipe costing
Review item costing and provide savings opportunities
Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales & use taxes
Prepare journal entries for payroll
Review and reconcile some P&L and some balance sheet accounts
Complete general data entry, journal entries and month-end tasks
Assist Accounting team with overflow, special projects and other tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
3-4 years of experience doing Accounting work
Understand & follow Accounting standard concepts, practices, and procedures (GAAP)
Intermediate computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook
Able to learn new or custom applications quickly and easily
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Maintain excellent rapport with supervisors and colleagues
