Overview
University Cooperative School is seeking after school caregivers to provide safe and fun after school care for a small group of children from Pre-kindergarten to 5th grade.
University Cooperative School is a community oriented PreK-5th grade school with a progressive, child centered, hands-on, multi-age approach to learning. Social and emotional development, the creative arts, academics, outdoor and service learning are key components of our program. University Cooperative School features small class size, a team of passionate, dedicated teachers, and an engaged group of parents. Responsibilities
Maintain a level of professionalism and act in a manner consistent with UCoop values and goals
Employ culturally responsive practices that align with the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Plan and lead daily after-school activities for groups of children in pre-kindergarten - 5th grade
Collaborate with assistant teacher lead and teaching staff to plan programming that best meets students’ needs
Facilitate safe and engaging outside time
Create opportunities for creativity, empathy, and thoughtfulness in play
Maintain accurate After School Care attendance and pick-up records
Act as a substitute teacher when needed (with higher compensation)
Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and staff
Qualifications
Experience working with children
Ability to relate well with pre-k to 5th grade children
Ability to create a fun and safe environment
Ability to communicate well with teachers and parents
Responsible, reliable, caring, conscientious, enthusiastic, creative, energetic and flexible
Loving and respectful approach to issues of conflict and problem solving
3:30 - 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
1:30 - 5:00 Wednesday
