Seattle Waldorf School seeks an experienced and engaging Dungeons and Dragons club leader for our winter program with the possibility of continuing into the spring. We will offer two days per week of an after-school club for a very enthusiastic group of students in 4th through 8th grade.
We are looking for someone who can work effectively as part of a team and independently, is experienced with D&D, has strong leadership skills, and who can provide a fun, imaginative, and engaging D&D experience. We are also looking for someone who shares our belief that a culturally rich and inclusive school community provides students with the best possible environment.

Job Summary: Dungeons and Dragons club leader. Wednesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:15-5:00 p.m., beginning November 20. The session runs through February 13.
Specific Responsibilities:
Supervise participants throughout the club time and until they are picked up by their caregivers
Teach D&D to new students and lead D&D adventures for the two club groups
Ensure health and safety of participants at all times.
Facilitate a social environment that is welcoming to all, regardless of skill level and takes into the consideration the needs of every person individually
Teach and uphold the values of kindness, respect and community
Model a culture of continuous learning and striving for one’s personal best
Read, understand and uphold the school’s code of conduct
Communicate with the Extracurricular Director about any challenges or concerns
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Preferred Education & Experience:
Experience as a D&D player
Teaching, coaching or leadership experience
Basic CPR and First Aid training
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Commitment to excellence in teaching
Strong leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to motivate, inspire and educate youth
A high level of professionalism
Ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to work and communicate well with school leadership, students and their parents
Punctual and reliable
Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humor
Possessing a level of cultural competency necessary for working with a diverse population in an inclusive and equitable community
We have a diverse student body, and we want all our teachers and coaches to have the skills necessary to ensure that their programs are safe and inclusive places for everyone
We seek teachers and coaches who are aware of the racial, socio-economic, gender, and other inequities present in education, and actively works to eliminate these in their programs
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Summary
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.50-29.50
Benefits: Seattle Sick and Safe Leave, accrued at 1 hour for every 40 hours worked
