High School Teacher

JOB SUMMARY: This is a full time, professional position teaching High School curriculum and providing credit retrieval, including a secondary summer school. Other services conducted: tutoring youth in grades 9-12 of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe community; supervising PGST academic coaches, students, and schools; cooperating and consulting with other departments and agencies to provide experiential learning opportunities. Provide coordination and facilitation of best practice staff development, training, and on-going support for academic coaches with the goal of expanding proficiency, creating classroom instructional excellence, and improving the overall performance of secondary level students (6-12). The High School teacher will also provide technical support to collaborative teams as they respond to the four critical questions of student learning in our secondary schools. The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux Sklai Yem or The Strong People, are descendants of the Salish peoples with ancestral ties to the Kitsap Peninsula that date back at least 1,000 years.
