Hiring Elementary Teachers at Christian School in Burien

Glendale Christian School in Burien, WA is currently hiring elementary school teachers.

Description: Full Time 1.0 FTE, contract position

8 hour shift, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

This full-time teacher will teach comprehensive core curriculum. Teacher will support and collaborate on enrichment classes in PE, Christian Education and Visual Arts. Teacher will serve in a Christ-centered environment with a strong commitment to working together as a team with students, families and staff.

Start Date: August 2024

Qualifications:

Holds at least a bachelor's degree, with priority given to candidates certified in teaching.

Christian by faith and example.

Possess expertise in relevant subject matter or have a background in child development and can demonstrate a mastery of content.

Have experience teaching and can effectively communicate instruction to meet individual student needs.

Be able to relate well to young children and adults.

Flexible and willing to work cooperatively with other teachers.

Professional in appearance and dress.

Strong communicator, both verbal and written.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and teach relevant education curriculum and other subjects applicable to appropriate grade.

Responsible for keeping accurate grading records for each student and reporting these grades at appropriate times.

Present engaging and compelling lessons.

Be effective in classroom management.

Display a love for learning and a passion for cultivating that love in students.

Able to attend staff meetings, teacher conferences and other meetings as requested.

Work well with a team on planning instruction and other student experiences (field trips, etc.).

Communication:

Communicate clearly and often with parents about activities and events of the day.

Assist in public relations events and extracurricular events (open houses, fundraisers, etc.)

Health and Safety:

Be responsible for the order and cleanliness of the classroom/school.

Be CPR certified, or willing to get CPR certification.

Conduct disaster and fire drills with the school.

Personnel:

Be aware of and comply with all personnel policies.

Be willing to actively engage in professional development.

Treat staff members, students, families with dignity and respect.
