Learn more About Shoreline AND Video Tour Our Campus!The Manufacturing department at Shoreline supports students developing skills in CNC machining as well as mechatronics. We train students to enter the workforce as manufacturing or machining technicians and for entry into the emerging field of Mechatronics. Instruction focuses on the development of hands-on, industry relevant skills through facilitated learning using a student-centered curriculum within a modularized Manufacturing program. This program includes teaching the basics of CNC operation and programming as well as manufacturing processes/systems/quality control, machine maintenance/management, and CAD/CAM programming, and design. Working with and maintaining the advisory committee, the successful candidate will ensure industry validation of curriculum and assessment, determine the equipment needs for the program, and develop and secure internships for students. Current course load includes CTC Machining, Basic Manufacturing, Intermedia Manufacturing, Manufacturing Technology Applications, Manufacturing Technology Programming, Computer Aided Manufacturing, and Preventative, Mechanical, and Motive Maintenance noting courses are subject to change based on program and industry needs. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise students, assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, participate in Shoreline governance, department, division and campus-related professional activities, and industry-focused advisory meetings . NOTE: An on-campus presence is required for this position. Weekend or evening instructional assignments are also possible.Faculty at Shoreline will have an array of students from differing programs in their classroom, including professional technical and university transfers. Experience in manufacturing or mechatronics education -teaching in a higher education environment or teaching/training adults.Experience with CAD/CAM and CNC production shop practices. If authorized by the College for remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For on-campus in-person instruction, work is usually performed in a classroom, lab, or office space that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
