Founded in 2017, Mt Si Arbor is an independent Montessori school in the heart of North Bend, Washington that serves up to 54 children from toddler through Kindergarten. Mt Si Arbor Montessori School is seeking a caring, compassionate team member to join our Primary program as a classroom assistant. The position is full time, and can be for the school year (September-June) or year-round.
This is an ideal position for an Intern teacher, or someone who plans to earn their Montessori teaching credential in the future. School sponsorship for training is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Our community is looking for a Primary assistant who is:
Enthusiastic about working with young children, ages infant through six years
Positive, energetic, punctual and dependable
Physically able to engage with the children on their level and to carry a child in case of an emergency
Curious about the Montessori philosophy and eager to participate in further professional development
Able to effectively communicate and successfully collaborate with a variety of people
Able to establish meaningful, warm relationships with the children, parents and staff
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Providing patient, predictable, safe and consistent care within the classroom and in the outdoor environment
Prepare and serve snack
Supporting children in all daily activities while guiding each towards independence
Maintaining the order, readiness and cleanliness of the classroom and shared building spaces
Maintaining overview of classroom activity during individual and group lessons
Assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing individualized strategies and accommodations to support the children's cognitive, social and emotional development
Qualifications
High School diploma required. Bachelor degree is preferable.
Infant/Child & Adult CPR (to be completed within one month of hire)
First Aid (to be completed within one month of hire)
HIV/Blood-borne Pathogens (to be completed within one month of hire)
Food Worker Card (to be completed within one month of hire)
Child Care Basics (to be completed within 90 days of hire)
DCYF Portable Background check (to be completed prior to date of hire)
Professional record up to date in MERIT Registry
Covid vaccination and booster shot are required
Compensation
We offer competitive pay ($21-$24 an hour) corresponding to experience and education, and benefits (paid time off, Simple IRA Retirement Plan, and for full time employees: medical, vision, dental).
