Job Title: Nursery Attendant
Ministry Purpose: To provide safe, secure, nurturing, clean and efficient care for children ages 0-5. Ministry responsibilities include playing with children or directing/redirecting their play, reading stories, praying with children, while exhibiting patience and love.
Pay Scale: starting at the 2025 minimum wage $16.66/hr
Job Description:
● Reports to the Director of Community Engagement
● Responsible for age-appropriate care which includes: changing diapers, maintaining a safe environment, holding, sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, crafts and play
● Polite, friendly and courteous to all children, parents and volunteers
● Arrive 15 minutes prior to start time of worship services (i.e. 9:45 am)
● Stay until all children are picked up by responsible adult name(s) on the child's sign in form
● Straighten room and clean any used toys before leaving
● Attend an evaluation at the end of 6 months employment and annually thereafter
● Work holidays that fall on Sunday and additional hours and days during busy time. (i.e. Holy Week, Advent, Lent or Christmas)
● Abide by the nursery policies and expectations
● Report to the Director of Community Engagement
Requirements:
● Dependability
● Cares for children 0-5 years of age
● Ability to interact with a variety of personalities/characteristics
● 18 years of age or older
● Must present and maintain a record of current immunizations, including MMR
● Must have current American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR
training/certification for infants and children, or be willing to complete a CPR/AED
and First Aid course provided through Christ the King
● Must attend Safe Place training provided by CtK and provide a completed application for employment, and pass a criminal background screening
