Looking for a Tutor / Mentor for Our 9-Year-Old Son
We’re seeking a patient, engaging tutor/mentor for our 9-year-old son. He’s bright, loves video games and anything computer-related, but isn’t always excited about school activities. We’re looking for someone who can connect with him, motivate him, and make learning feel meaningful and fun.
What we’re looking for:
A strong, confident mentor — someone who can gently guide, influence, and inspire without being strict or rigid.
An excellent communicator — able to explain concepts clearly at a 9-year-old level and keep him engaged.
A friendly, fun companion — not just a traditional teacher. Someone who understands the importance of building trust, having fun, and becoming a positive presence in his life.
Basic programming knowledge — he’s very into computers and is beginning to show interest in coding.
Bonus: Fluency in a second language (Mandarin or Spanish especially).
Schedule:
We’re looking for help 2–3 times per week. Potential time slots:
Monday: 4–6 pm
Wednesday: 2–6 pm
Friday: 4–6 pm
Sunday: 4–6 pm
Compensation:
Starting at $35/hour, with flexibility to increase for the right candidate who can truly be a great match.
If you think you’re the person we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you!
