Architectural Drafting Position -
Mayer Designs, Inc., is a Seattle based architectural fabrication and furniture manufacturer. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and fill an architectural drafting position.
Applicant must be proficient in 3D and 2D CAD drafting and have a well-rounded understanding of construction as it relates to architectural metal, wood working and furniture manufacturing.
Position Description and Responsibilities:
Produce detailed construction drawings in 2D Auto CAD for client approval.
Produce material cut sheets for ordering project material and coordination with vendors on project orders.
Produce 3D renderings for architectural projects and furniture line.
Project related communication between designers, architects, and fabrication team.
Schedule management of furniture and custom architectural projects.
General project development and design related tasks.
Use of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop for in house design projects.
Applicant Requirements:
2 years minimum experience in architectural/construction drafting; Auto CAD or similar.
Expert, up-to-date knowledge of software programs including Auto CAD Key Shot/Blender, Adobe Suite (InDeisgn, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft (Word, Excel) programs.
Must have excel math skills in geometry, algebra and trigonometry.
Must be detail oriented, organized and self-directed.
Must have knowledge of wood and metal material sizes, thicknesses, hardware types and other building materials.
Professional and positive with the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
Flexible and able to shift gears between multiple projects.
Background in architecture, interior design, construction, fabrication and/or custom-building trades required.
Position Essentials:
Full-Time employment (35-40 hours per week).
Hours: 8am-5:30pm, Tuesday through Friday.
Starting Pay: $30 to $35 per hour - D.O.E.
