Primary Duties
· Prepare submittal, revision, and fabrication drawings for select projects.
· Responsible for reviewing bid drawings/scopes/specifications with Project Manager after award of contract.
· Responsible for identification of design documents or drawing discrepancies and submittal of clarifications questions (i.e.: RFI’s) to Project Manager regarding additional drawing information or updates needed from client to efficiently produce production/fabrication drawings.
· Identify and communicate schedule impacts in a timely fashion (includes duration of drawing time and impact of changes or updates to design).
· Responsible for upkeep of submittal/fabrication file structure to ensure all documents are current and correct.
· Available for site visits, field verification as required in coordination with Project Manager.
Secondary Duties
· Maintain excellent understanding of communication process with contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors in conjunction with Project Manager.
· Attend drafting meetings as required.
· Maintain and facilitate project reporting procedures; for each relative scope of work maintain design drawing/document log, track hours worked on each project by use of assigned project number.
Goals for this Position
· Provide support to fabrication efforts, troubleshoot, etc.
· Review project constructability to ensure safety of fabrication and erection in design phase of project in conjunction with Project Manager.
· Review all design software to ensure company is using best practices.
Proficient in Bluebeam Review, Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, One Note, Word, Excel) Auto-Cad 14 or newer through Current Edition.
Ability to identify materials, fasteners, finishes and construction specifications for incorporation into drawings for fabrication and submittal. Learn, identify and incorporate current building codes, specifications, symbols (architectural, welding, etc.) into drawing submittals.
Track revisions and/or changes to design at submittal drawings (ie; additional drafting ours for updates or design changes).
Work within established format for drawings, cover sheets, project scope tracking.
